Professor of Psychiatry
Dr. Feusner serves as a Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto Temerty Faculty of Medicine, within the Division of Neurosciences and Clinical Translation, where he is deeply involved in various research initiatives and academic activities. He is also a Senior Scientist and the Director of the Brain, Body & Perception Research Program at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, a leading institution recognized for its advancements in mental health research and clinical practices. Moreover, he holds the prestigious position of Chief Medical Officer at NOCD, where he plays a vital role in the integration of technology and mental health care.
Prior to his current role, Dr. Feusner was a distinguished professor of psychiatry at UCLA from 2006 to 2021 and served as the Director of the UCLA Adult OCD Program, where he led numerous successful research projects and provided crucial insights into treatment methodologies. Since 2018, he has been the Chief Medical Officer at Noto.ai -- the world’s largest virtual specialty therapy company and leader in serving OCD and related psychiatric disorders.
Dr. Feusner acts as a research and clinical supervisor, providing mentorship to junior faculty, postdoctoral fellows, Ph.D. candidates, master's students, medical students, psychiatry residents, undergraduates, and high school students, fostering the next generation of mental health professionals and researchers by sharing his extensive knowledge and experience.
Dr. Feusner is a board-certified psychiatrist with clinical expertise that spans body dysmorphic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety disorders, and various other mental health challenges, demonstrating a strong commitment to addressing the complexities of these conditions.
His research initiatives addressing body dysmorphic disorder, OCD, and anorexia nervosa are supported by various funding bodies, including the NIH, International OCD Foundation, Nathan Cummings Foundation, Klarman Family Foundation, Tiny Blue Dot Foundation, and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, reflecting the significance and impact of his work in the academic and clinical communities.
